About the role

They are looking to hire a self-starter and entrepreneurial Business Operations Associate to join their growing team. As Operational Performance Lead, your responsibility will include leading and managing the day-to-day operations of Koa, and you will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer to create the internal and external processes that Koa will carry-on for the upcoming years.

What do you need to be considered successful?

The successful candidate should be able to show proactivity, thoughtfulness, and think beyond the box. This is a high-growth environment where adaptability and an affinity for chaos is required - they’re ultimately firefighters. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Build, improve and maintain internal operational processes
  • Ability to manage external stakeholders while incorporating partnership requirements into internal processes
  • Ability to use process improvement tools and frameworks such as Lean and Six Sigma to improve our processes and reduce errors
  • Ability to identify critical pain points and bottlenecks standing in the way of achieving operational excellence, develop actionable solutions for them, and execute on your plans cross-functionally
  • Develop and document business processes and internal policies to maintain and strengthen internal best practices
  • Build strong documentation internally to ensure all key information is accessible, structured and actionable
  • Oversee the implementation of key courses of action decided on by management – be the person who makes sure things get done

You will drive the entire day-to-day operations of their organization and ensure the efficiency of the process.

Koa is a technology-driven organization, hence you must be up to date with new and effective technological tools that will improve their operational activities.

What do you need to have done in your career?

  • +4 years of overall combined experience in Operations (especially financial services operations, but willing to consider candidates from other industries), or Consulting
  • Prior experience in Financial Services, Financial Technology or High-Growth Startups / Technology Companies
  • Experience in Project Management and Operations Management and ability to lead various processes in parallel
  • Experience in team management
  • Experience with Six Sigma/LSS (Green Belt or above preferred but not required)
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Some basic SQL skills and/or statistical analysis/data science background would be helpful, but not required
  • A relentless pursuit to build for scale with the smallest possible headcount and least possible opex and capex
  • Highly self-aware of strengths and weaknesses and embraces failure as an opportunity for learning and growth
  • An intuitive thinker who can marry the big picture with the details and apply a rational, data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • FLEXIBILITY – They are an early-stage startup and things are constantly evolving
  • Experience working with third-party tools - Freshdesk, Intercom, Zapier, Notion, Metabase, etc...
