Our client, Sabi is providing digital solutions that enable retailers to take more ownership of their business by helping them take out the pain of procuring goods. They are looking to hire a merchant operations associate who will manage every aspect of their relationships with farmers.

What do you need to be considered successful?

You will have to come in and design strategies that enable Sabi to sell to retailers while maintaining profitability. You will crack the whole process of selling to smallholder groups for them. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Design and execute systems to grow sales to retailers.
  • Act as a conduit between Sabi and the retailers.
  • Drive retention and overall merchant success through exceptional service and support.
  • Build relationships with merchant partner teams and act as merchant experts.
  • Gather insights on merchant behavior to understand trends and unlock more opportunities.
  • Build relationships with new and existing retailers.
  • Actively identify opportunities and areas for process optimization and innovate new processes to keep the team as efficient as possible.
  • Drive growth and profitability for the business through merchants.
  • Identify gaps in merchant processes and think up solutions to fill those gaps.

How important are you to the bottomline?

You are important to cracking the solutions that help them grow their merchant operations. You will be a round peg in a round hole blocking out whatever leakages happen in the merchant support process.

Biggest problem-solving duties on the job

You will bring your experience in selling to the merchant and smallholder groups into play on this role and craft solutions that ensure that they are able to seamlessly provide retailers with solutions around the procurement of commodities.

What do you need to have done in your career?

  • Strong track record of selling to small groups, merchants, or trade groups.
  • Understands operations tools and business goals.
  • 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Willingness to get hands dirty and drive results.

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in a local language.
