MAGIC Fund is a $30M early-stage fund built by founders backing other founders. MAGIC was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

Their thesis at MAGIC is that smaller funds run by diverse founders perform best at early-stage investing (pre-seed/seed). They’re a fund of micro-funds run by repeat founders who possess strong expertise in specific industries and geographies, with a keen focus on Fintech, Healthcare, Saas and emerging markets.

They are a group of fifteen partners who invest across 5 key markets: US & Canada, South-East Asia, India, Africa, Europe and Latin America. They work with founders who are committed to building the leading companies across different sectors and geographies.

About the Role

They are looking to hire a Creative Manager to lead their company's creative department, as they build out new content lines and communication channels. The goal is to position MAGIC’s image and that of its General Partners in a way that inspires, informs, and promotes the vital work that they do.

What do you need to be considered successful?

  • Work with the MAGIC leadership to design our media strategy 
  • Set, plan, and implement unique content-driven growth and brand-building strategies 
  • Liaise with the design team to build out MAGIC’s brand identity and tone, and ensure brand consistency across all digital media channels 
  • Build a team to execute the outlined strategies, manage internal personnel and external agencies/freelancers 
  • Define and deliver the most important MAGIC Branding, Content and Communications KPIs 
  • Manage the end-to-end process of editing & publishing of content 
  • Analyze and generate actionable insights from our platforms and audience 
  • Create a framework and build relationships that’ll enable your team to identify relevant events/activities across our key markets that MAGIC’s General Partners can leverage 
  • Identify and engage relevant channel partners that will amplify MAGIC’s brand to our target audience 
  • Lead the execution of marketing/communications programs from start to finish, driving collaboration with the stakeholders and leveraging the right internal processes 
  • Improve the brand's awareness using digital media channels such as Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and the website
  • Prepare and provide reports to MAGIC management on the impact of our communication activities
  • Oversee relations and communications with investors and other stakeholders 
  • Organize and participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness 
  • Remain up-to-date with the latest digital media trends and design technology 
  • Create exciting trends around our work that captivate the public

How important are you to the bottom line?

Your work will involve:

  • Deploying unconventional approaches to help craft a narrative for their brand.
  • Building and managing all communications and brand tone globally
  • Leading the creation and production of new content lines (such as video series, podcasts, newsletters, etc.) to help uniquely position them as a thought leader in the venture capital sector and beyond.

What do you need to have done In your career?

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in Art, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Content Production, or a related field preferred
  • A solid understanding of design, copy, content production, and direction
  • Proven success designing and executing marketing and communications strategies and campaigns
  • In-depth knowledge of brand development and multichannel marketing models
  • An understanding of the technology ecosystem and venture capital sector is a plus
  • Proficiency with web analytics and SEO/SEM campaigns
  • Up to date on industry trends and able to stay ahead of the curve
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
