Roles and Responsibilities
A graduate trainee will assist and support on a wide range of legal matters including:
- Conducting a variety of legal assignments under the guidance of a coaching associate.
- Sit in and take notes during meetings, compile reports and make presentations where necessary.
- Conducting research on assigned issues, using existing law files and alternative sources (e.g., computer-assisted searches using the internet, intranet and/or other databases), analyzing information, and summarizing findings.
- Conducting comparative legal analyses on a range of issues in a given area, identifying legal and policy issues, researching relevant precedents, and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Participating in task/project teams with the coaching associates.
- Assisting in the preparation and organization of conferences and meetings.
- Performing ad hoc assignments as requested by the coaching associates.
You are eligible to apply if you have:
- been called to the Nigerian Bar.
- an excellent command of the English Language (speaking and writing).
- a good grasp of collaboration tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Tools, Slack.
- or do not have previous work experience.
